Our client is a successful Fuel Tanker haulage company operating throughout the UK. Due to continued success and growth, they are now looking to recruit a Transport Administrator to join their head office team in Basildon, Essex.

What will I be responsible for?

Reporting into the Transport Manager, the successful Transport Administrator will be responsible for ensuring that all transport administration tasks are delivered to a high standard in accordance with customer requirements and company targets.

Main responsibilities:

  • Undertake administrative and filing duties to meet needs of the Transport and Fleet Department.
  • Ops: Ensure all inbound/outbound paperwork is completed promptly and accurately.
  • Ops: Responsible for the retrieval of all proof of deliveries (PODS) and upload to the system for data reconciliation.
  • Ops: Collation of accurate data to create customer invoices.
  • Ops: Updating and maintaining figures and data on company system.
  • Ops: Updating customer spreadsheets and check correct information is provided.
  • Ops and Fleet: Produce statistics as and when required.
  • Fleet: Vehicle Document filing – accurate filing of legal documents and other vehicle related documents.
  • Fleet: Updating digital records.
  • Fleet: Posting documents to service providers/workshops.
  • Fleet: Compile data on information received from depots.
  • This list is not exhaustive and the job holder may be require to undertake other duties.

If you have previous experience of the transport industry, this could be the ideal role for you.  The successful Transport Administrator, will also need the following skills and competencies:

  • ‘Right To Work’ in the UK
  • Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Word & Excel) 
  • Previous administration experience
  • Good numeric skills – including accuracy
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills
  • Enthusiastic and energetic personality
  • Ability to work on own initiative, demonstrates organizational skills

About Company

Shift Pattern:  

  • Monday – Friday: 08:30 – 17:30hrs
