Due to continued success and future business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Director/ Manager to join our team based at our East Midlands head office in Nottingham.

The Role

Joining our team as Technical Director/ Manager, you will be responsible for supporting them in leading, defining and implementing the region’s Technical strategy whilst also supporting the regions business plan and future growth plans.

Key duties and requirements

Joining the Avant Homes team as our Technical Manager, you will also be responsible for:

  • Providing people leadership and support to the head of department and the technical department ensuring the effective management, compliance, and control across all Avant Homes developments.
  • Ensuring that all planning and design requirements are effectively managed and reported on.
  • Overseeing external working partnerships.
  • Supporting the head of department to ensure the department is fully engaged in the process of determining, agreeing and delivering site start programmes within the agreed timescales.
  • Managing Technical and regulatory approvals, adoptions, bonds and reimbursements and provide key status reports and updates on KPI’s.
  • Providing advice to the Land department on the technical viability of new sites.
  • Working closely with internal departments such as Land and Construction to ensure the delivery of our developments in alignment with pre agreed project plans.

We are open to speaking with candidates at either a Director or Manager level for this opportunity.

To be successful as our Technical Director/ Manager, you will hold extensive all round technical knowledge along with experience of people management whilst experience of working within a similar role for a house builder.

An engineering management bias is preferred with a strong understanding of regulations and requirements is essential.

You will also possess; 

  • People management experience within a technical department for a new homes’ developer.
  • Departmental planning and strategy experience.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • The ability to showcase inspirational leadership skills and the mentoring of team members.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
