Exciting new position working with local partners to improve access to Hepatitis C Treatment across the North and North East Lincolnshire areas. The need for exceptionally high standards of care is paramount, as is maintaining a safe, caring and therapeutic environment that is inclusive and supportive.
- This is a fixed term position until 30/06/2024
- The sucessul candidate will be covering two sites – 1 days in Scunthorpe and 3 in Grimsby
Applicant must have an understanding of Hepatitis C and experience of working in the feild of substance missue. Working on a new pilot project to provide hepatitis C treatment in substance misuse field in conjunction with CGL. Ability to be flexible to meet client needs around appointments.
As an active member of the nursing and multi-disciplinary teams, you will promote and safeguard the interest, well-being and safety of patients, visitors and colleagues. You will advocate for patients, ensuring accessibility and comprehension of information, as well as assessing the care needed for physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs.
Your ability to build and maintain trusted and open partnerships with other professionals and stakeholders, will be vital, as will your commitment to raising standards of care to make the services culturally sensitive, relevant and accessible to meet the needs of patients. You will also be tasked with the review and development of clinical policies and Standard Operating Procedures

Please note the salary advertised is pro-rata, and is dependent on experience and qualifications
Please note, this role is 30 working hours per week between Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. Some flexibility will be required to meet the services’ needs
Essential Skills
- UK Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Knowledge of Hepatitis C
- Relevant healthcare experience working with clients affected by substance misuse.
- A successful track record of providing high quality care
- Knowledge of safe storage, handling and administration of drugs in particular controlled drugs
- Knowledge and understanding of NMC code of conduct
- Knowledge of risk assessment and management and its implementation
- Ability to positive engage service users
- Effective written and communication skills
Desired Skills
- Studied to Degree Level
- Post basic study covering substance misuse and blood borne viruses
- Qualified to perform immunisation and vaccinations
- Mentorship Course/ENB 998 or equivalent or willingness to undertake
- Experience of delivering nursing interventions in a community setting
- Experience in delivering structured psychosocial interventions
- Knowledge and awareness about current developments in drug and alcohol issues
- Experience of planning and providing harm reduction initiatives and recovery solutions in a substance misuse setting
- Experience of using Methosoft dispensing systems (if prison setting)
- Experience of using SystmOne (if prison setting)
- Relevant health care experience in a forensic or secure setting (if prison setting)
