The Shift Operations Technician will work as a member of a small team providing 24/7 cover for the safe and efficient operation of the energy from waste power plant. This role will play a key part in driving the sites continuous improvement.
You will receive appropriate support, development, and training and this role has the potential to lead on to shift team leader or another operational support role within the department.
The salary for this role is £39,600 plus shift allowance.
Key duties and responsibilities of the Shift Operations Technician include:
- operating the plant ensuring compliance with appropriate safety and environmental standards, and statutory requirements. This includes identifying operation outside prescribed limits and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
- health and safety; this is our number one priority, you will have a proactive approach to identifying and reporting any accidents, incidents, near misses, observations or anomalies that have, or have the potential to affect the safety of the process or personnel.
- plant & control system first line maintenance, fault diagnosis, reporting, and documentation completion in line with safety, business and statutory requirements.
- assisting local management and other designated personnel in the development and review of standard documentation, operational reports, and delivery of projects.
- positively presenting the role of Site Operations Technician and the Operations Department to the rest of the location site, the wider business, its contractors and customers.

Essential Skills
- 2-3 years’ experience in a technician role preferred.
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of and compliance to safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to interpret a variety of routine reports, process flow diagrams, and correspondence.
- Basic computer skills in MS office Word and Excel.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of the waste/resource industry and Energy from Waste.
- Experience of working within a power plant or process environment.
