We’re looking for an excellent people manager who can lead our substance misuse recovery team to achieve high quality recovery outcomes for our service users.

This role is Home Based, and occasional travel to services will be required.

This is a fixed term maternity cover role for 12 months, or at the point the person returns to post. Its expected the role will start Jan / Feb 2023. This role is managing a Young Person diversion scheme within Young person substance services remotely across the country. Occasional travel to services will be required. The RE frame project is delivered in collaboration with Kent University and is a YP diversion scheme delivered in 4 locations, through grant funding to evaluate the effectiveness of diversion. The 4 locations are; Wigan, Kent, Sefton and Cornwall.

Safeguarding those we provide our services to, sharing your concerns and putting the right interventions in place is key to the success of this role.  But you can’t do it alone, you’ll need an amazing team of people to support you and strong relationships with other agencies to deliver the comprehensive support needed by those using our services.

You will lead your team, providing development and clear direction aligned with the organisational aims and be a strong advocate for With You externally, maintaining and building our profile as you go.

There may be new business opportunities to pusue and support or a CQC visit to manage along the way.  There’s not doubt this is a challenging and varied role which can bring huge satisfaction from seeing your team progress and our service users move towards where they want to be.

Essential Skills

To be able to carry out this role successfully, you will:

  • hold ONC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • have a formal management qualification or be committed to attain one
  • have a proven track record of managing and leading drug and alcohol or mental health services (or similar types of service)
  • be able to evidence effective management of a complex, multidisciplinary team
  • understand and have experience of using service user feedback to develop services
  • be able to manage your team’s performance to high standard
  • have experience of an inclusive approach to your ways of working
  • be able to demonstrate prior success of working in partnership/joint ventures
  • have experience of effective budget management
  • be an effective leader of people, change programmes and relationships
  • have the ability to interpret data or evidence and use it to develop effective solutions
  • be able to manage your time, dealing with conflicting priorities with ease
  • be great at estalishing rapport and credibility, using this to great effect
  • have a proactive, dynamic and determined approach which you can flex to suit the circumstances
  • be a good communicator (written and verbal) and be comfortable using IT and digital media
  • be able to work flexibly and travel nationally to attend meetings as required

This role requires a satisfactory enhanced DBS with both barred list checks

Desired Skills

Any candidates who also have the following in addition to the essential criteria will be at an advantage:

  • a qualification relating to the field of substance misuse or mental health
  • experience of planning and delivery of group work programmes
  • experience of leading a service reconfiguration
