You’ll work closely with the Operational & Clinical Leadership along with our Recovery Workers to ensure that the clinical and psychosocial needs of the individual are met and that prescribing is safe, effective, and in accordance with best practice whilst meeting the individual needs of the client.

We are looking for an experienced nurse or pharmacist with an independent prescribing qualification who is fully registered with their relevant professional body.    

We are also happy to consider applications from experienced registered nurses or pharmacists interested in undertaking their independent prescribing qualification.

You’ll need experience in the field of substance use, or in providing care for clients who have experienced drug or alcohol health issues.  

You will be expected to represent With You, working with NHS, General Practitioners, and a number of external public bodies. You will need to maintain a good level of knowledge of the specialist area as well as the legal regulatory and compliance standards.

You’ll also successfully lead and coordinate a team of independent prescribers/nurses and will also take a lead in delivering clinical projects.

This job is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an enhanced level with Barred List(s).

This is a permanent full-time role for 37.5 hours per week.  

Essential Skills

  • UK registered nurse with NMC registration or Pharmacist with GPhC registration
  • An Independent Non-Medical Prescriber
  • A minimum  of 3 years post-registration experience
  • Experience of facilitating clinical supervision in an individual and group setting
  • Experience of working within substance misuse
  • Practical experience delivering clinical interventions in an appropriate setting
  • Experience of independent prescribing to a service user group
  • Proven ability to use initiative, organise own workload and recognise own personal/professional limitations
  •  
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and management and its implementation
  • Knowledge of safe storage, handling and administration of drugs in particular controlled drugs
  • Knowledge of clinical audit process and an ability to use audit tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage service users
  • Willingness to work in different locations including where clinical cover is required

Desired Skills

  • Masters level qualification in Drugs and Alcohol or relevant discipline
  • If you are a pharmacist, you are qualified to administer vaccines
  • Clinical experience of working in more than one specialty
  • Leadership skills (motivating, using initiative, change management)
  • Criminal Justice or Mental Health experience
