We are looking to recruit a Senior High Intensity Therapist to join our team working across Kent in our IAPT services. This is a role for a qualified practitioner who is looking to expand their individual clinical practice to include Digital, Group & one to one CBT Step 3 NICE recommended interventions alongside providing Clinical Supervision to Trainee and Qualified Therapists. You will be part of a MDT working within a stepped care model delivering an NHS contract. You will hold a qualification from a High Intensity IAPT Course (at least Post Graduate Diploma). Accreditation with the BABCP is essential and HCPC registration would be advantageous. Qualifications in clinical supervision are desirable but not essential as a successful candidate will be supported in completing the IAPT supervisor’s course. Accreditation costs are covered by our organisation.

Benefits

Salary circa £42500.00 (FTE) prorated for part time.

Essential Skills

  • IAPT Course (Post Graduate Diploma) or equivalent: e.g. a recorded/registered doctoral level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology, a recorded/registered qualification in one of the following – nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy, or within a psychological therapy – plus further post graduate qualification training in CBT, and significant experience working as a psychological therapy practitioner and demonstrating the competences as required
  • Accreditation with BABCP
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services / routine outcome monitoring, risk assessments
  • Knowledge/understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in Primary Care
  • Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems
  • Knowledge of child protection issues and other relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of anti-discriminatory practice and of working with the diverse range of groups and communities served
  • Able to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively
  • Able to work under pressure, high level of enthusiasm and motivation
  • Able to work within a team and foster good working relationships
  • Ability and skills to act as an advocate for a new service
  • Flexibility of working times required
  • Location negotiable but must be able to visit other locations from time to time in order to deliver the services required
  • This role requires a satisfactory enhanced DBS certificate.

Desired Skills

While these are not essential requirements, Senior High Intensity Therapists who can also demonstrate some or all of the following will be prioritised:

  • Accreditation for other NICE compliant psychological therapies such as IPT, Behavioural Couple Therapy for depression or EMDR
  • Training in other IAPT approved psychological therapies (e.g. IPT, couple therapy for depression, EMDR)
  • Training in delivery supervision within IAPT
  • Experience of working in Primary Care Services
  • Relevant experience in Primary Care treating anxiety and depression
  • Worked in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes
  • Completed clinical audits within a service
  • Experience of teaching
  • Experience of working with diverse communities and within a multicultural setting
  • Car driver and/or ability and willingness to travel to locations throughout the organisation
  • Fluent in community languages other than English
