We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Frontline Finance team.  We are based in Peterborough city centre and this great opportunity is offered as a fixed term contract to the end of April 2024. 

You will provide general cover for time-sensitive accounting and analytical tasks across management, financial and commercial accounting to enable existing members of the team to dedicate time to a range of business and systems projects.   

As our Senior Accountant you will own the production of the management accounts, have line management responsibility for the Frontline Management Accountant and will have involvement in budgets and forecasts.  You will also support the team by reviewing current processes, suggesting changes and working with the team to reduce any skills, knowledge and documentation gaps.  This will enable good foundations on which to then overlay any new and updated processes required as an outcome of the current projects.  Our successful candidate will also play a lead role in the upgrade of our Finance system.

The role is offered as a full-time position, but there could be the opportunity to offer flexible part-time hours.

Essential Skills

This will be a very varied role and our successful candidate will  demonstrate the following skills, attributes and capabilities:

  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA finalist/qualified or can demonstrate extensive relevant experience
  • Advanced Excel (proficient in the use of lookups, sumifs and pivot tables)
  • Line management experience would be advantageous
  • System testing experience essential
  • The ability to quickly assimilate new information
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities
  • A strong team player who enjoys mentoring others
  • An enquiring mind
  • A can-do attitude
