We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator with great customer service skills to join our Sales and Underwriting Support team.
This role involves working closely with various departments across the Group of Companies and external agencies, contractors, and clients. The Sales & Underwriting Support will be a key point of contact and regularly make contact with our clients and HMRC.
Additionally, over time you’ll be responsible for underwriting and approving tax and VAT advances within the business. You’ll also be responsible for the credit control processes within the department, including recovery of tax and VAT rebates from HMRC.
Key duties for this Sales and Underwriting Support role:
- Reviewing application information, as well as documents and credit file information
- Contacting HMRC to check the status of our clients’ self-assessment accounts, to recover outstanding rebates owed to our clients
- Ensuring client records are kept up to date
- Liaising with subcontractors to obtain statement of earnings for our clients
- Completing internal client handovers to initiate debt management procedures where necessary
- Communicating with clients to request pay data and complete conference calls with HMRC
- Ensuring all calls are compliant with Data Protection
- General administration including maintaining digital customer records and managing in-house ticking system for the department
This Sales and Underwriting Support role would suit candidates with experience in amin, customer service, Excel, Outlook, and Word. Previous experience working with HMRC or in an underwriting role is desirable.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the view to be made permanent. Our working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am-5.30pm, and Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm.
All applications require the right to work in the UK; we don’t currently hold a license to provide work sponsorship.
Essential Skills
- Background of working in a fast-paced customer service position, ideally within an office/phone-based environment
- Comfortable working on the phone for most of your day; clear and confident telephone manner
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, equally capable of working alone using own initiative or taking direction
- Ability to comfortably prioritise tasks and cope with competing demands, often in a high-pressure scenario
- IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Prior experience within an administrative role, with a keen attention to detail
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
