The Retail Security Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the security operations within the Retail Microsoft Experience Centre in London UK.

The primary focus of this role is to ensure the safety and security of customers, employees, and company assets, while also mitigating risks and minimising losses.

The Retail Security Operations Manager will lead a team of Security personnel and work closely with the store management teams and Regional Security Advisor to develop and implement security protocols and procedures.

  • Working 5 days over 7 (including weekends)

The RSOM will be required to carry out the following essential functions:-

  • Develop and implement security protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of customers, employees, and company assets.
  • Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and areas of improvement.
  • Coordinate with the local law enforcement agencies and emergency services to respond to security incidents and emergencies.
  • Investigate security incidents and reports findings to local Branch Team.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Key Stakeholders, such as store managers, employees, and customers to enhance security awareness and promote a safe environment.
  • Serve as a leader, coach, and mentor to direct reports, meet regularly with employees, evaluate performance of personnel.
  • Documents career development opportunities, performance deficiencies, and disciplines according to organisational standards.
  • Constantly evaluates operational programs for service delivery consistencies and efficiencies. Recommends and implements solutions to fix operational deficiencies.
  • Recognises frequently changing priorities and events, directs the activities of the operations staff in a timely manner.
  • Reviews and approves reports and other documents prepared by Officers to ensure accuracy and adequacy, ensures cases are properly prepared and presented, prepares internal correspondence, enters and extracts data from computer programs/systems.
  • Promote teamwork and cooperative problem solving among subordinates, monitor compliance with rules, regulations, procedures, and strategic directions.
  • Escalates via chain of command all complaints and inquiries received from the client, management, staff, or other departments; investigates, prepares reports/statements, collects evidence, and presents findings to senior management.
  • Manages Shift Supervisor and Security Officers.
  • Conducts regular briefings with Security personnel and disseminates appropriate crime information and other data as necessary. Responsible for conducting regular roll-call training on topics relevant to best practices.
  • Evaluates Security Officer/Responder actions at accidents and serious/sensitive events, assumes command, and aids Officers in the field.
  • Debriefs personnel after critical incidents and prepares written After Incident Reports (AIR) and disseminates to appropriate staff.
  • In conjunction with scheduling, ensures adequate coverage of all posts and positions.
  • Works closely with all stakeholders to ensure communication and best practice is maintained across the account.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Security Management with a proven track record of successful leadership and management of Security Teams.
  • Holds a Valid Front Line SIA License.
  • Strong knowledge / experience of security protocols, procedures, and best practice in the retail industry.
  • Must have a reliable means of communication (ie. mobile phone).
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the relevant country.
  • Full 5-year checkable history
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
  • Must have a basic level of education.
  • Must be willing to participate in a pre-employment screening process, including drug screening and background investigation.
  • Able to work evening / weekend hours.
  • Must have the ability to complete a First Aid and Fire Training courses.
