The role is for an experienced Quality Engineer that will become a key member of the Quality Team. This is a new position with opportunities for development and career progression within the quality department. Your responsibilities will be maintaining the Quality Systems and collate KPIs to support continuous improvement activities. There will be opportunities to audit suppliers, completing Internal audits as required.

As part of this role, you will be involved in problem solving activities, your need to have a good understanding of engineering drawings, Quality tools, SPC, Six sigma, Pareto, FMEAs, Control Plans. NCRs, KPIs, 8D, Ishikawa, Six sigma. Collating data to demonstrate continuous improvements.

Your roles and responsibilities are:

  • Maintain and control non-conforming process, raise new Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Using the EFAC system and drive these to completion. Chase completion or corrective actions to close out NCRs ensuring where appropriate credits have been received.
  • Update procedures as required, maintain the “Document Control process” ensuring all documents are current, up to date throughout the required document retention period. Ensuring quality related documents are entered into the document register.
  • Complete Internal audits, ensure all regulatory requirements are covered in the audit plan. Work with the auditees to ensure all outstanding corrective actions are completed.
  • Complete product risk assessments in-line with product risk prevention activities.
  • Use Advance Quality planning Techniques, DFMEAs PFMEA’s Control plans to assist with new product development activities, ensuring the appropriate stages have been followed.
  • Collate information to be used in detailed quality reports. Write technical based reports on findings.
  • Assist with Initial Samples Inspection Reports (ISIR) Create dimensional reports using measuring equipment.
  • Using problem solving skills, your need to have a good understanding of engineering drawings, Quality tools, SPC, Six sigma, Pareto, FMEAs, Control Plans. NCRs, KPIs, 8D, Ishikawa, Six sigma. Collating data to demonstrate continues improvements
  • Management and developement a team.

Additional Information

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 4pm and Friday 7:30am to 12:30pm. Site based. Job Type: Full-time Schedule: Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate.

Essential Skills

  • HND or BTech or similar qualification in Engineering, ideally Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • GCSEs in English language and mathematics at grade 4 or above (grade C or above under the A*-G system), and one GCSE science subject at Grade C or above under the A*-G system.
  • Excellent written skills.
  • Good organisational and communication skill.
  • Ability to liaise with Senior Management.
  • Computer-literature in Microsoft office; Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workloads.
  • Ability to respond to the demands and pressures of tight deadlines.
  • 2-3 years experience ideally
  • Perious experience in management

Desired Skills

  • Ideally 5 years combined experience in an Engineering/ Quality Systems Role.
  • Experience working with a Quality Management System, ISO9001, IATF16949.
  • CQI Certificate in Quality Management. (Desirable)
