The Tax & Outsourcing team at IN-SYNC are responsible for providing a high level of support to our clients whilst ensuring all of there tax returns are completed and submitted to HMRC correctly and on time – and we now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join the team as Manager of Tax Services.

As the manager, you’ll use your extensive knowledge and experience for Tax, Accounts and HMRC Legislation to lead the team, manage projects, improve processes and drive the business forward. This is a very hands-on role where you’ll be expected to work alongside the team in peak times.

Key duties for this role:

Liase with internal and external business partners
Management of the Tax team to ensure the department runs smoothly
To deliver KPIs and stretch abilities for continuous learning and improvement
To implement new procedures, services and policies
To ensure training and development of new members of staff
To monitor the handover of clients from Sales and ensure the process is completed efficiently and smoothly
Identify, highlight and resolve any barriers to the delivery of department objectives
To be a point of escalation for complex customer queries
To prepare presentations, slides and data when needed
Team management including appraisals, probation reviews, individual and team meetings
Flexible in the approach to people management to ensure that tax team is well managed with a focus on employee motivation, job satisfaction, client liaison and team productivity

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.30am-5.30pm, and Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm. All applications require the right to work in the UK; we don’t currently hold a license to provide work sponsorship.

Essential Skills

Experience of managing a team in a fast-paced customer facing environment (Minimum 2 years)
The personality and drive to inspire and motivate a team
Focus on targets and delivery of department objectives
Strong organisational skills including time management and prioritisation
Excellent communication skills
An understanding of Tax self-assessments

Desired Skills

Ability to train and mentor new or existing team members.
Accounting qualification
A background within Tax Accountancy or experience working with Self-Employed workers.
Experience working on projects or qualification in project management.
