Are you an experienced IT Developer or Support Engineer looking for an exciting new challenge? Would you like the chance to work for a leading haulage firm?  If the answer is YES, our client wants to hear from you.

Our client is a successful Fuel Tanker haulage company operating throughout the UK. Due to continued success and growth, they are now looking to recruit an IT Developer/Support Engineer to join their head office team in Basildon, Essex.

What will I be responsible for?

As an IT Developer/Support Engineer, you will look after all UK sites and report to our parent company in Italy and be responsible for providing day-to-day support for an in-house transport management system as well as providing general IT support to the workforce. You will also play a part in developing key internal/external systems and will have the opportunity to provide your input/opinions to make improvements where possible. Other duties include:

  • Setting up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices.
  • Installing and configuring appropriate software.
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
  • Organise and schedule software upgrades and maintenance.
  • Interface with external service provider in case of faults or disruptions
  • Use your knowledge of programming to provide daily support for an in-house transport management system.

If you have a strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, this could be the ideal role for you.  The successful IT Developer/Support Engineer, will also need the following skills and competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles
  • Proficient in C# .NET 6/.NET Framework
  • Relational database experience including SQL Server, Entity Framework + DB admin responsibilities
  • Experience with HTML, JavaScript and web development frameworks (including AngularJS)
  • Experience writing scalable REST, ODATA and Web API services
  • Networking fundamentals/troubleshooting skills
  • Windows Server/Active Directory/Azure AD skills

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Blazor WASM/Server (not required, full training will be provided)
  • Ability to communicate effectively while working alone & under pressure
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Knowledge of SIP trunks + related infrastructure
  • Source control (GIT/TFS)

About Company

Hours of Work and Requirements

  • Monday – Friday 08:30 – 17:00hrs
  • Required to be ‘on-call’
  • Full UK driving license
  • Flexible to travel and stay away overnight including occasional overseas (Italy, France, Spain)
