Are you a doctor looking for a change? Are you looking for the next step? Do you want to work in forensic healthcare that makes a remarkable, positive, and life-long difference to people’s lives?

If the answer to the above is a yes, then this is the right role for you!

Here at Mountain Healthcare, we are looking for passionate, determined, and resilient individuals to join our amazing teams as Forensic Medical Examiners in the West Midlands.

Mountain Healthcare Ltd is pleased to offer the opportunity to join our custody teams as a Forensic Physician (Forensic Medical Examiner, FME), working in the above locations.

We predominantly operate a fully embedded model of forensic healthcare delivery (though there is some opportunity for on-call work in the West Midlands, when rota coverage allows).

The Forensic Medical Examiner is responsible for ensuring the appropriate management and care is provided to detainees in police custody promptly at any time of the day or night (according to shift).

It shall be the FME’s responsibility, when on duty, to embed at the designated police custody suite (or to be within the force area, in the case of completing an on-call shift in the West Midlands).

For all examinations, the Forensic Medical Examiner must accurately document findings. If required, the FME must produce these as a written statement/report for appropriate civil, criminal courts, or other agencies. Whenever called upon to do so by the police, the FME must attend at any court (remunerated by the CPS) for the purpose of giving evidence.
