PETA Ltd are looking to source an exceptional Engineering Apprentice for our client, Mimtec. You will be learning how to produce high value, low volume components and assemblies. You will be working in a mechanical manufacturing environment using drawings, hand tool tools and equipment. You will be checking your work against quality standards.

As an Engineering Apprentice this programme forms part of your companies succession planning for the future.

Training to be provided:

You will be trained, supported and monitored throughout the process. During this engineering apprenticeship you will be required to attend PETA’s Havant facility for off-the-job training.  This will start as 13 months of day release (1 day a week) when you will complete your skills training. You will learn how to: work safely, use technical information, produce coomponents using hand tools. You will also learn about mechanical and electrical equipment as well as how to assemble and test electronic circuits.

About the role:

Joining the Mimtec team as a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice, your role will be focused on undertaking the manufacturing processes on site. As part of your programme, you will learn how to:

  • Interpret and follow specifcations
  • Follow laid down procedures and methods
  • Become a skilled machine operator working thermoforming machines
  • Solve production problems
  • Operate a variety of equipment including plc controlled thermoforming machines and other related equipment
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards

Mon-Thu 08.30 – 17.00, Fri 08:30 – 16:00 (38.75 hrs)

About Company

Since 2006 Mimtec has developed and grown with ongoing investment in new machinery and equipment. We are primarily a vacuum forming company, with a range of vacuum forming, pressure forming, twin sheet moulding, drape forming and acrylic fabrication facilities. We use CNC machinery to finish the moulded products as well as to manufacture and repair of the moulding and vacuum forming tools on site. We are committed to the training and development of young people with an established pipeline of apprentices in a variety of roles across the business.
