PETA are proud to be working in partnership with Alitex to recruit and train an exceptional Engineering Operative Apprentice.

Please note: Due to the location of the site, the successful applicant will require their own transport.

Training to be provided:

As an Engineering Operative Apprentice, you will be studying for a level two qualification. This apprenticeship is 15 months in length and will involve ongoing onsite training and mentoring from the Alitex team combined with day release training (one day per week) at the PETA Engineering Training Centre in Havant.

About the role:

What will I be responsible for?

Joining the team as an Engineering Operative Apprentice, you will:

  • Learn how to undertake final performance tests and complete Alitex documentation
  • Become competent completing final build of assemblies, and final fitting of both electrical and mechanical components to specifications
  • Undertake quality checks to ensure all parts are correct prior to painting
  • Learn how to dry build the assemblies, ensuring that they are dimensionally correct

Essential Skills

Whilst you don’t require any engineering experience to be considered for the role of Engineering Operative Apprentice, you will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • 2 GCSE’s at grade 4 or above (or equivalent) this must include maths and English
  • This is a physical job, you will need to be fit and want to undertake a very hands-on role
  • You will possess good communication skills with the ability to communicate with peers and management
  • You will need to be open minded and willing to develop your knowledge and skills to support your future development
  • You will need to be motivated, driven and keen to learn
  • You must be reliable and able to work under pressure
