Are you an Electrical Technician / Engineer with an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) bias? Have you worked in a production engineering / plant environment, with experience of process control and measurement equipment?

The EC&I Technician is responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance as well as improvements on all electrical, control and instrumentation equipment and systems across the Plant.
Working opposite the EC&I lead and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the EC&I Technician forms part of a small maintenance team who directly support site Operations to maximise Plant availability. This can involve working alone, as a member of the wider team, or supporting third-party contractors.
Safe working practice is a priority and the company’s health, safety and environmental processes, policies and procedures must be adhered to at all times.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Ensure that plant commercial performance, availability and reliability are maintained to a high level by carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks on a range of electrical equipment
- Maintain and carry out fault finding of electrical equipment, instrumentation and control systems.
- Assist when required during major maintenance periods/shutdowns/outages to deliver multiple work packages to ensure maximum plant availability and efficiency.
- Undertake assigned duties in order to maintain site legislative compliance.
- Manage and maintain critical spares stock and ensure an adequate supply of general spares and consumables to minimise the risk of extended downtime in the event of a breakdown.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS.
- Develop, conduct and support continuous improvement activities, plant modifications, design work and outage preparations.
- Assist local management and other designated personnel in the development and review of documentation.
- Identify and rectify or report any accidents, incidents, near misses, observations or anomalies that have, or have the potential to affect the safety of the process or personnel.
- Positively present the role of Maintenance Technician and the Maintenance Department to the rest of the site, the wider business, its contractors and customers

Essential Skills
Experience:
- A time served electrician with in-depth knowledge of controls and instrumentation in a similar heavy/processing plant that uses a DCS/SCADA system.
- Must be able to read and understand technical drawings and be confident at diagnosing faults.
- Advantageous to have experience of using maintenance management systems and working within a permit system.
Education:
SVQ/NVQ/HNC/HND qualified in an electrical discipline and 18th Edition.
