Our client have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join their Mortgage Department as a Commercial Operations Manager. This is a unique opportunity to join an industry-leading finance brokerage.

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Head of Freedom Services, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Day-to-day management of the First Charge Mortgages Department and Mortgage Processing function
  • The delivery of a first-class customer journey by maximising customer satisfaction and conversion whilst providing the right customer outcomes
  • Managing and maximising the performance and profitability of the Sales and Processing Department in accordance with the FCA and MAB compliance procedures
  • Providing leadership, motivation, and direction to all of the department
  • Being responsible for the sales management and performance of the department
  • Managing, developing, coaching and motivating team managers and mortgage advisers to ensure they and their teams achieve their goals, ensuring that appropriate objectives and development plans, in line with business needs, are in place
  • Using your specific mortgage industry knowledge to support the mortgage advisers both in relation to mortgage sales and compliance aspects of the industry
  • Ensuring MAB (Mortgage Advice Bureau) and internal KPIs are met for the business as a whole, including adviser conversion and third party agreements
  • Within area of responsibility, ensure that Freedom 365 complies with all statutory and regulatory requirements and established practices of corporate governance
  • Constant review and assessment of the customer journey through various feedback mediums, ensuring the right customer experience is the key measure of success for the department
  • Forecast work volumes within the department based on commercial, marketing, and historical data, and ensure that resources are sufficient to effectively manage the work volumes
  • Pro-actively contribute to the strategic development of the company’s business as well as managing the department’s day-to-day operational activities
  • Ensure you have role-specific training for all staff members within your remit which reflects the activities and behaviours which they are required to carry out and display. This will be supported by HR and Risk & Compliance as required
  • Ensure all direct reports and all other staff within your reporting lines are trained regularly in the Customer Conduct Rules prior to commencing their role and at regular intervals thereafter
  • Maintain and develop relationships with MAB regional managers and compliance managers to ensure adherence to F365’s responsibilities as an appointed representative of MAB

Essential Skills

  • CeMAP 1,2 & 3 qualified
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Mortgage Lending and Advising
  • Experience of working within Sales and Operational Management
  • To be an approachable, effective leader that enjoys managing people and achieving goals through people
  • To have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with people of all levels across the business
  • To possess drive, determination, and resilience to meet targets and succeed
  • To be a customer champion who believes in the delivery of first-class customer experience
  • The ability to understand complex procedures
  • The ability to build broader business knowledge through networking
  • To have flexibility on working hours to enable the achievement of goals
  • Experience in project management (desirable, but not essential)
