PETA Ltd are proud to be working with St Edmund’s, an Ofsted outstanding school, to recruit a Business Administrator Apprentice. The Apprentice will be primarily responsible for general administration support, whilst also covering reception as and when required. 

There is the potential for a full-time role to be offered to the suitable and successful candidate upon completion of the apprenticeship. 

Training to be provided

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15 month apprenticeship which includes 10 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.

About the role 

The Business Administrator Apprentice will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Provide administrative support, e.g. photocopying, typing, filing, collation of pupil reports and receiving deliveries, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times
  • Maintain the office records
  • Undertake stocktaking of School Uniform Shop and assist Student Services Administrator in selling Uniform
  • Distribution of staff/department mail
  • Co-ordination of stationery order requests
  • Retrieve and update information on manual and computer based systems
  • Assist in updating of School Social Media sites, i.e Twitter
  • Support with party planning, whole school displays, first aid, assembly presentations and file scanning
  • Report student and school issues in line with school’s policies for health and safety, child protection, behaviour management etc.
  • Undertake reception and telephone duties, answering enquiries from staff, pupils, parents and the general public
  • Ensure all visitors are welcomed and records kept of their arrival and departure

  • At the discretion of the Head Teacher, such other activities as may from time to time be agreed consistent with the nature of the job described above
  • To work with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives and targets
  • To participate in Employee Development schemes and Performance Management and contribute to the identification of own team development needs

Info

Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:00, Friday 08:00-15:30 (37 hours per week). Term time only + 1 week in the summer based on £7.50 per hour. Please note that an enhanced DBS check will be required. GCSEs in maths and English with at least a grade 4/C are required.

Desired Skills

  • It is desirable for applicants to be first aid trained or willing to be trained
