MATCH Accounting are working in partnership with PETA to recruit and train an Admin Assistant Apprentice to work in a varied office support role.

Training to be provided:

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 15 month apprenticeship which includes 10 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.

About the role:

The Admin Assistant Apprentice will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Anwering telephone calls and taking messages
  • Filing, scanning, typing and posting documents
  • Updating policies
  • Meeting and greeting customers
  • Monitoring emails
  • Setting up meeting rooms and offices for events
  • Producing weekly reports and statistics
  • Taking and distributing monthly meeting minutes
  • Credit control
  • Requesting, checking and entering HMRC codes
  • Marketing including weekly blogs and meetings
  • Assisting with bookkeeping
  • Supporting with and referring IT issues
  • Maintaining office workflow system

• 37.5 hours per week
• Flexible start and finish times, for example, 07:00-15:00 / 08:00-16:00 / 09:00-17:00
• Excellent future progression routes including the opportunity to move into a marketing, accountancy or business development role with further training opportunities.

Essential Skills

As this is an apprenticeship, no prior experience is required! However, applicants should have:

  • GCSEs in maths and English with at least a grade C/4
  • A team mentality towards work
  • Great attention to detail
  • Good customer service
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A positive attitude towards learning
  • Good time management
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel

They should also be polite, professional, personable and friendly.

Desired Skills

  • An interest in finance and accountancy.
